Lynn Bailey and Sebastian Hammer are traveling “down under” to Sydney to attend the 2017 Australian Library and Information Association Conference from February 13 - 17 and the FOLIO Symposium on the Future of Libraries.

Sebastian Hammer, Index Data’s president and co-founder, will be featured on a panel discussing the FOLIO Project’s impact on library automation at ALA Midwinter this weekend. Moderated by Rob McGee of RMG Consultants, the panel will answer questions about the project’s progress, governance, and plans for transforming how patrons interact with a library’s services.

Lynn Bailey and Nassib Nassar of Index Data are attending the Fall Membership meeting of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) Dec. 12 - 13 in Washington, D.C. Representatives from CNI member organizations gather twice annually to explore new technologies, content, and applications; to further collaboration; to analyze technology policy issues; and to catalyze the development and deployment of new projects.


On Wednesday, November 16th, Index Data’s Peter Murray will host a FOLIO Forum on the development roadmap. Harry Kaplanian from EBSCO will present the short, medium and long term goals for the FOLIO development effort and take questions from participants.

Index Data, OLE and EBSCO are hosting a 2-day workshop in Copenhagen on FOLIO for participants and interested organizations on 19-20 October. We will provide a deep debrief on FOLIO and progress in the project and expect active and lively discussion in the workshop, including some facilitated, topical breakout sessions.


Tune in to the second FOLIO forum to hear Sebastian, Kurt, Jakub, and Peter talk about the current state of the FOLIO Platform project and the plans for opening the github repositories. There will be a Q&A session at the end.


Index Data is leading the development of FOLIO software, which is designed to support libraries and developers in creating new kinds of library services.

The new FOLIO library platform has taken its first steps as an open source project with the opening of the code repositories and developer community resources at dev.folio.org.
