Index Data  >  Support

Two levels of support are available to users of Index Data software. The first level is our community support, which is freely available. The second level, which augments community support, is commercial support, which we offer through support contracts.

Community Support

Because Index Data is committed to supporting and growing our community of software users, and to the Open Source principles of collaborative support and development, we sponsor email lists for all of our software. We appreciate the many contributions our community makes through these lists to the software we are stewards of, and we are proud of the supportive environment our lists represent for our users to get their questions answered and concerns addressed. To strenghten this community support, Index Data staff monitor these lists, and will respond to questions and concerns about our Open Source software in the following areas to all who ask:

  • Support policies, prices and procedures
  • bug reports or suggestions for improvement
  • technical questions and concerns that affect the entire user community

For a complete listing of Index Data email lists, see lists.indexdata.dk.

Commercial Support

Index Data's standard service agreement is available for users who want quick problem resolution and a deeper support than the volunteer community can provide. In addition to our own software, we offer support for Mike Taylor's Net::Z3950 and zSQLgate modules. Please contact us for details.

As professional developers who rely on software ourselves, we know how important it is to have software that is backed by competent people who stand by ready to resolve problems quickly. That is why we offer optional commercial support agreements for all of our software packages. By subscribing, you get:

  • Direct access to the programmer(s) who developed the package, or to people who have already used it in several commercial projects.
  • Guaranteed, quick response to all bugs and other functional problems.
  • General assistance with such areas as network protocols and software administration, or if you just plain get stuck.

Your purchase of commercial support also helps us improve on the existing software and develop exciting new programmer's tools and end-user applications for the future.
